Chester Heights, Pennsylvania about, two miles in area, is home to over 50 historical sites and structures, as identified in a 1983 report by the Delaware County Planning Commission. This includes residences, churches, a camp meeting, businesses and other buildings and structures.
Our Mission and ObjectivesThe wise preservation of our significant historical buildings, sites and ruins which contribute to the charm and the heritage of our community and to promote the protection and restoration of local landmarks. a) The promotion of historical research and antiquarian work related to the Borough of Chester Heights. b) The encouragement of towards the creation of local ordinances that protect our historical and cultural buildings and sites. c) To serve as a resource for the preservation and interpretation of local history. d) To maintain books, photographs, charts, registers and other documents relating to the history of Chester Heights. e) The Society does not contemplate any gain or profit, incidental or otherwise.
Organization ProfileWe're a group of motivated residents, business owners and others who own or care for historical property, and the value created by it's heritage to our community. Please join us at our September 2007 meetingThe next general meeting of the Chester Heights Historical Society will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 6pm at Old St. Thomas. This evening meeting has been scheduled to encourage more participation from interested persons. The meeting will include an excellent presentation on the history of Old St. Thomas.
